Ingredients

Scale
  • Dough:
    • 1 lb pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)
    • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (for rolling)
  • Filling:
    • 1/2 cup marinara sauce
    • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
    • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
    • 1/4 cup sliced pepperoni or other toppings
    • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • For Brushing:
    • 2 tbsp melted garlic butter
    • 1 egg (for egg wash, optional)

Instructions

  • Prep the Dough: Roll the dough on a floured surface to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut into 4-inch circles or squares.
  • Add the Filling: Spoon marinara sauce, mozzarella, parmesan, and pepperoni onto the center of each piece. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning.
  • Seal the Puffs: Fold the dough over the filling and seal edges by crimping with a fork. Brush edges with water or egg wash for extra adhesion.
  • Cook the Puffs:
    • Baking: Preheat the oven to 375°F. Place puffs on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush with garlic butter and bake for 15–20 minutes or until golden brown.
    • Air Frying: Preheat to 360°F. Air fry for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through.
    • Frying: Heat oil to 350°F. Fry puffs for 2–3 minutes per side until golden. Drain on paper towels.
  • Serve: Let the puffs cool slightly, then serve with marinara or ranch for dipping.

Notes

  • Freeze unbaked puffs for up to 2 months. Bake directly from frozen, adding a few extra minutes to the cooking time.
  • Add veggies, chicken, or even breakfast fillings for variety.
  • Avoid overfilling to prevent soggy or burst puffs.
